Questions, answered
Yes. Every Ray-Ban, Oakley and Vogue frame we sell comes through Luxottica, the company that makes them, and Aweh Eyewear is a verified Luxottica reseller.
You can check that yourself: Aweh Eyewear is listed on Ray-Ban’s own store locator. Every frame is the manufacturer’s own product in the manufacturer’s own colourways, never a replica or a lookalike.
Delivery is R80 in Gauteng and R150 anywhere else in South Africa, and it is free on any order of R1,500 or more.
Standard delivery is also free when your order includes any two pairs of blue light glasses, reading glasses or Move sunglasses, at any price and including end-of-line frames. Two of the same frame count, and so does a mix. The exact cost shows at checkout before you pay. More on our delivery page.
You can return frames within 30 days of delivery for a refund or an exchange, as long as they are unworn (tried on only), in their original packaging and complete with their tags and cases.
Once the frames reach us and pass that check, we refund you within 10 working days to the payment method you used. You pay the return courier unless the item is faulty or we sent the wrong one. This is on top of your legal rights under the ECTA (7-day cooling-off on online purchases) and the Consumer Protection Act. Full details are on our returns page.
Polarised lenses cut glare, the harsh reflected light off roads, water, sand and car bonnets; non-polarised lenses dim everything evenly but leave that glare in. Both can block 100% of UV, because polarisation and UV protection are separate features.
Choose polarised sunglasses for driving, the beach, fishing and boating. Non-polarised is fine for everyday wear, and the better choice if you often read screens such as car dashboards or ATMs, which can darken through a polarised lens.
For tired eyes at a screen, probably not much. A 2023 Cochrane review of 17 trials found blue-light filtering lenses probably make little or no difference to eye strain in the short term, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology does not recommend them for screen use.
Screen strain mostly comes from blinking less and focusing close for long stretches, so the 20-20-20 habit helps more: every 20 minutes, look about 6 metres away for 20 seconds. Evening screen light can delay sleep, but whether the glasses improve sleep is still unproven. Many customers like wearing them on long screen days, which is a fair reason to buy a pair; it is a preference, not a medical promise. The research, with sources, is on our Information page.
Compare the three measurements on the product page with a pair you already find comfortable: lens width, bridge width and temple length, all in millimetres.
Those numbers are usually printed on the inside of the temple arm of your current glasses. Within 2 or 3 mm of each, the fit will be close. Our guide on measuring a frame at home shows how.
